If you watch the news, you probably saw the story of Josef Fritzl. This 73 year old Austrian imprisoned his own daughter for 24 years and had 7 children with her. Where did he keep her? In the basement.
This tale is so wrong in so many ways that it just blows my mind. This man is unbelievable. He had been molesting his daughter from the age of 11. The imprisonment in the basement started at 18.
I just don't see how this could have went on for so long. How could the mother (his wife) not have known?
This is a really shocking story. It drives the point home that we don't always know our neighbors. This man had a plan, and he saw it through. He used soundproofing and keyless entry to keep her locked up in a tiny area. It's scary. He lead a double life and ruined the lives of many people.

You're right. He's sick. But, like you said, how did his wife not know about it? I mean, they said the dungeon was "sound proof"...but she had seven kids down there.....how could someone not hear that happening! And how did that poor girl not get an infection from imporoper medical treatment after giving birth!? I think he may have taken her to a hospital! He had to have done so! AND HIS WIFE HAD TO KNOW.
