Even though this is old news (12-2007), I still wanted to make a post about this.
Back in December of 2007, Van Miguel Hartless took his SouthWestern burger from Burger King home and bit into it. He says that when he got to the third bite, it tasted bitter and sour. I'm guessing this wasn't the special twange that the SouthWestern burger is supposed to have.
He says as he bit down harder, he felt rubber and saw the condom hanging halfway in and halfway out of his mouth. According to this news article here, he did file a lawsuit.
In all seriousness, I really hope that wasn't a used condom.
The man is suing because of emotional distress, among other things. I can imagine that this would be kind of scary, as you couldn't be certain if it was a used condom or not. If nothing else, I would never want to eat at a Burger King again.
What I'd like to know is what was really going on that day in the Burger King kitchen.
There have been a lot of reports over the years about fast food restaurants and objects in the food. I have to say this is the first time I've heard of a condom though.
My advice? Always check your burger before taking a bite. And if something taste wrong, it's probably because something is wrong.
